Service information
Privacy & Data Handling
A plain-language description of what the current T Bruce Studio service workflows collect and how submitted information moves through the published application.
Last reviewed 27 October 2026. This page describes observed application behaviour; it does not claim legal certification, independent compliance review or provider practices that cannot be verified from the application.
Information you may submit
Depending on the service, you may submit your name and email, organisation or business details, a project brief, a public website address, timing information, technical context, document text and optional uploaded files. Only provide information needed to assess or complete the request.
How project enquiries and uploads are handled
Project enquiries are saved to a private T Bruce Studio record. Optional files are uploaded to associated application storage. Studio owner inbox alerts are disabled: enquiries and payment exceptions are reviewed in the protected owner dashboard, without an automatic owner email.
For Spreadsheet Rescue and Document Finish, a first-party, cookie-free counter records aggregate arrivals at paid-service pages from selected free tools and practical guides. It records the offer and general page source, not the tool text, spreadsheet data, document content, visitor email or a cross-page visitor identifier. New order records may store this general page source to help understand which route was used. The counts do not identify individuals or prove search traffic.
Website scans and digital service orders
The free website scan reads the public URL you submit together with the stated business and visitor goal. A recent result may be stored so it can be reopened, and the email and website address may be used to limit duplicate scans.
Document Finish first saves your contact details, purpose and page count to a private order record. The private order page then collects the full document text so its size and service scope can be checked before checkout. The submitted text is stored with the order and processed through the configured production and quality-check workflow after payment.
Business, MoleculeX and other fixed-scope service forms save the submitted brief or technical inputs to the relevant project or order record so the request can be assessed, quoted, produced or delivered.
Modern Schoolhouse Academy · child and family data
Modern Schoolhouse Academy (MSA) is a signed-in home-learning service operated by The Modern Schoolhouse / T Bruce Studio in South Africa. A learner profile cannot be created until the adult confirms that they are the learner's parent, guardian or another competent person authorised to consent to processing the child's information, and explicitly accepts this child-data notice.
MSA stores only the information needed to run the family learning record: learner name, grade and programme position; curriculum mastery/progress; lesson and assessment evidence; formal-assessment records and results; attendance and parent-controlled home-education records; and optional educational photo/audio evidence supplied by the family. Do not upload identity numbers, medical records, passwords, payment-card details or unrelated sensitive information.
Educational responses and evidence may be processed through the application's configured AI service to generate or adapt lessons, assess submitted educational evidence against the mapped CAPS requirement, prepare formal assessment tasks/memoranda/rubrics, or draft parent-facing learning summaries. AI output is bounded by the applicable verified CAPS requirement set and does not make government-registration, legal-compliance or competent-assessor decisions.
Retention rule: MSA keeps the learner record and app-managed evidence while that learner profile exists so the family can maintain the year record. Subscription expiry makes paid teaching unavailable but does not silently delete the family record. The signed-in adult can export the learner record at any time and can delete the learner profile when it is no longer required.
Deletion: the in-app Delete learner control removes the learner's active MSA database records and app-managed photo/audio evidence paths for that learner. Provider-side backups, security logs or infrastructure copies may remain for the provider's own retention period or where retention is required by law; MSA does not claim that an application-level delete can erase provider backups instantly.
Access and correction: the signed-in adult can export the learner's current MSA record in a generally readable JSON format and can update ordinary learner-profile details inside the service. Privacy, correction or deletion questions that cannot be handled in-app can be sent through the privacy contact route below.
MSA relies on the competent person's prior consent for the child's information used to provide the requested Academy service. POPIA contains specific protections for children's information and rights of access, correction and deletion. This notice describes the implemented product controls; it is not a statement that the Information Regulator or DBE has certified or endorsed MSA.
Modern Schoolhouse Grade 6 assessment evidence
This section describes the separate Modern Schoolhouse education service. The free Grade 6 readiness check stores parent contact details, programme information and checklist answers needed to decide whether the current service may fit. It does not ask for learner files at that first stage.
Real learner-evidence intake is a separate private workflow. Before the first file is accepted, the parent/guardian or other authorised competent person must consent to secure processing of the learner's educational evidence and AI-assisted evidence preparation. PDFs are processed in sections so long portfolios are not judged from a small sample. The system classifies and organises evidence; it does not decide attainment.
Private access links are time-limited and can be rotated. The application stores a non-reversible hash used to validate new live links rather than relying on a permanent public case URL.
AI does not make the final Grade 6 attainment, progression or legal judgement and does not apply the assessor signature. The assessor reviews the source evidence, enters the professional results and comments, explicitly approves the declaration and signs the final report. A final report is not released if the signature cannot be embedded. Payment-card details are handled by Yoco checkout rather than the assessment forms on this site.
The free Modern Schoolhouse teacher assessment tools and parent Report Card Decoder are embedded AppDeploy applications. Their application code does not create saved learner or child profiles. Text, PDF-extracted content and images supplied to those tools may be sent to the configured AI processing service to generate the requested assessment, marking, moderation, class-analysis, report-comment or report-explanation result. Remove names, ID numbers, school numbers and other unnecessary identifying details before use. Provider-side infrastructure handling and retention are not established by the application code.
The application uses AppDeploy application services for records and file storage. Configured AI processing may be used to classify and organise evidence; provider-side infrastructure retention cannot be verified from the application.
Live learner-evidence intake remains launch-gated until a specific source-evidence retention period has been configured and the Information Officer/privacy notice and cross-border processing basis have been confirmed for production. The production workflow accepts a configured period between 30 and 365 days. At the end of that period, the automation deletes uploaded source evidence and derived evidence analysis from the active case. The signed final report, minimal payment/case metadata and tamper-evident audit records may be retained longer where reasonably necessary for legal, accounting, professional-record or dispute purposes.
The responsible party for this education service is The Modern Schoolhouse in South Africa. Information is collected to run the requested service, communicate about the case, prepare evidence, take authorised payment and deliver the result. Some processing may occur outside South Africa.
Service providers used by current workflows
The application uses AppDeploy application services for records and file storage. Project alerts may be sent through Resend when configured. Website scans and eligible automated production workflows use the application's configured AI processing. The application code does not establish every provider's infrastructure-level handling practice or provider-side retention period.
Payments
Where checkout is offered, payment is handed off to the configured Yoco checkout flow. T Bruce Studio service forms do not ask you to type card details into the project or order forms on this website.
Retention and deletion
Retention differs by service and there is not one automatic deletion date for every business workflow. Where a specific retention period is configured, the relevant service section states it. Otherwise, you may request deletion or ask how long a particular submission is being kept through the privacy contact route below. T Bruce Studio will use the minimum information needed to locate the record and will action deletion where the information is no longer required for an active order, dispute, accounting, legal or professional-record purpose. Provider-side backups and infrastructure retention remain subject to the relevant provider terms and confirmed processing arrangements.
What not to send
Do not submit passwords, payment-card details, account credentials or highly sensitive information that is not necessary for the work. Public website links and the minimum project context are preferred wherever they are sufficient.
What you are told when information is collected
The responsible party for the services described on this page is T Bruce Studio in South Africa. Information is collected to assess and deliver the requested business service and communicate about the order. Fields marked required are needed to operate the workflow; optional fields may be left blank. If required information is not provided, the relevant service step cannot proceed.
Information may be handled by application hosting/storage services, configured AI processing, email delivery and Yoco payment services where those services are necessary for the workflow. Some processing may occur outside South Africa.
You may ask for access to or correction of personal information, object to processing where applicable, ask about deletion/retention, or raise a complaint through the privacy contact route below. You may also approach the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Questions about information you submitted
Use the T Bruce Studio project form and identify the request as a privacy or data question. Include only the details needed to locate the submission.
